Erica Kirkwood is a San Antonio-based Occupational Therapist with a passion for all things running. Erica graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M Kingsville and went on to complete her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from Loma Linda University.
Erica competed in Division 2 cross country and track focusing on the 1500, 3K, and steeplechase where she achieved all conference and student athlete honors. Upon completing her studies, she continued her running achievements by racing countless 5k's, 10k's, half marathons, and marathons, most notably the 2020 US Olympic Marathon Trials in Atlanta, GA. She credits her running community, coaches, friends, and family for her many accolades. Now a mother of 3 darling girls, she currently runs to honor God and to uplift others.
Erica is also a certified running coach through UESCA. She collaborates with her husband, Dr. Jonathan Kirkwood, physical therapist and board certified orthopedic clinical specialist, to provide runners with safe and effective, evidence-based coaching services. She is dedicated to help runners of all levels by using her athletic experience and professional knowledge to bring wholistic training plans and running programs that aim to maximize performance, enhance wellbeing and prevent injury.
